Beclomethasone Dipropionate Neomycin & Clotrimazole Cream

Betamethasone + Clotrimazole + Neomycin is a three-drug combination of betamethasone, clotrimazole, and neomycin. Beclomethasone Dipropionate Neomycin & Clotrimazole Cream is a steroid that inhibits the synthesis of chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause the skin to become red, puffy, and itching. Clotrimazole is an antifungal that inhibits fungus growth, whereas Neomycin is an antibiotic that inhibits bacterial growth in the skin. They work well together to treat your skin infection.

  • Skin infections can be treated with betamethasone, clotrimazole, and neomycin.
  • It should only be used on the skin. It should not be used in the eyes, mouth, or vagina. If you get it in these places by mistake, rinse with cold water.
  • Unless advised by a doctor, do not cover the area being treated with airtight coverings such as bandages, since this may increase the chance of adverse effects.
Corticosteroids are anti-inflammatory medications such as betamethasone valerate. When the body responds to an allergen or irritant by releasing inflammatory chemicals, the skin becomes inflamed. These substances cause blood vessels to dilate, causing the skin around the affected area to swell and become itchy and uncomfortable. Corticosteroids keep this from happening by preventing cells from releasing excessive amounts of these chemicals.
